I have some questions for anyone who has the Hornady Cowboy Bullet Seater die (MidwayUSA reference below).
I am only interested in the single seating die, not the three die set.

1. Is this the die without the “snap ring" style retainer?
2. Does it work well with the LEE TL358-158-SWC.
3. Does it need an additional seating stem for the SWC flat nose?
4. Do you like it?

I have no experience with that die but if the Midway description is accurate it wouldn't fit my presses:

Dies Included: Hornady Cowboy Bullet Seater Die
Die Size: 7/8"-24

Given my 50 years of hand loading (including with my own cast bullets in .38/.357, .44 mag and .45 Colt) I can't imagine what difference the recent fad of being a cowboy might make.

The idea is that it is better at seating cast lead than the seating dies that are made for jacketed bullets.

The Cowboy set I used for the 44-40 didn't do any better than a standard seating die.
