With time heavy on my hands I formed 20 348 cases to 43 Spanish. Easy to do but time consuming. After fire forming I decided to see how much fffg black powder the cases would hold. Much to my surprise they will easily hold 78 grains of powder with bullet seated. My Jamison cases will hold 74 grains of fffg black powder. No drop tube was used to fill the cases. This load should be a real attention getter in a carbine.

Any 348 I get I turn into 8mm Lebel rifle. Don't come across them very often.

Why turn something expensive and fairly hard to get into something easy to buy? Graf's has 8x50R every time I've looked for it. (I turn it into 10.4 x 42 Swiss). The .348 is a lot tougher to find, and more expensive.

I don't buy it. Just come across one now and again. You are right about it being rare and expensive. I do get my 8x50R from Grag.

I bought a couple of hundred Winchester 348 cases about 20 years ago when they were readily available with the intention of reforming them into 43 Spanish cases. But other things got in the way and I didn't get it done. Now that I am ready to continue with the conversion, I forgot what means I was going to use to get the conversion done. Could you please outline the conversion process you performed on the 348 cases to get them to 43 Spanish?

I load the ones I have for a Model 71 Winchester. Fun gun to shoot.
