Figured I'd post this here as a follow-up to my post under Lubes about trying to come up with something to approximate BLL while locating some Johnson's 1-Step. Using a NOE TLC-310-180 mold, boolits sized .310, w/AL GC, WW material with a touch of solder in my 30/40AI. I made up an arbitrary mixture of LLA, JPW, and some mineral spirits, warmed up and used RD's dip method. This dried in about an hour. Meanwhile I added another small amount of mineral spirits and put this in an empty Lee bottle. I then tumble lubed with a VERY few drops of the homemade TLL. Dried quickly. Loaded these 3 at a time ahead of 16,17,18 19 and 20gr of Hercules 2400. Looks like two sweet spots, 17 and 20gr. 17gr gave me 1665 avg with a spread of 16fps. The 20gr gave me 1836 avg with a spread of 5fps. The 17 got me a .320 group, 20 got me a .620 group. All groups were under 3/4". Still gonna get me some 1-step. GW
Meant to add that this was at the initial 50yd. Pick up yer brass and move to the 100yd line.
