is there a quieter flash hider / muzzle brake for a AR15 then the stock bird cage

Quietest with smallest flash I know of is a suppressor.

There are cheaper knock offs of the "Flaming Pig" with the end ring and internal cone being one part, not chromed. I found mine on AMAZON. Haven't fired it yet, but do have the original Bulgarian ancestor to the Flaming pig on an AK, and boy howdy does that work well to consume the flash!

Well, I agree the $35 for KAK Flash Can is more palatable then the $120 for Noveske Flash Hider KX3 Pig.

I put a Levang Lineaer Compensator on an AR pistol that I recently built, and it works very well to direct the noise and blast away from the shooter. Especially for the price, they're hard to beat.
