I just picked up a set of 8x68 Imp and 6.5x68 reamers and plan on a set of Mausers in the future.
I'm looking at making brass from 375 Ruger basic. My ShadeTree forming dies won't help with the fatter case so I am looking at using a series of standard dies. These are the FL die sets that I have that may help:
358 Norma
300 Win
30 Newton
300 WSM
270 WSM
6.5 WSM
6.5x68

I don't have a set of the 8x68 30* Imp dies yet, but I do have a die reamer for them. It might take me some time to get 8x68 Imp dies made.
I have a 338WM seating die, but not the sizer.

I'll take any advice on sizing steps. If I crash and burn I can buy the brass, but it is about $3 ea.

Guess I can figure it out on my own.

I am guessing that I am not the only one here unfamiliar with these cartridges.
Is this what you are speaking of??

NECG is now importing head stamped brass and loaded ammunition. My next project will be a 6,5x68S on a very nice color case hardened GEWEHR DST action.

I congratulate you on your excellent taste in a pair of rifles. 264WM and 8mm Rem Mag users will drool at the very mention of those two; and no stinking belt to complicate your life. Many years ago I bought a European Wby chambered for the 6,5.

Whose die sets are you going to use? CH4D has both, iirc; and for less than a C-note with shell holder.

I have dies for the 6.5x68. I have the die reamer for the 8x68 Hetzenauer (Improved w/30* shoulder). Seems finding a person to make the dies is going to be difficult. PTG has the die bodies relatively cheap, so I may end up making them myself. I don't see a need for heat treating the dies as they will see limited use.
I got the bottom metal for both yesterday and am looking for a 6.5 barrel. I want it to finish at 28". The 8mm barrel should be readily in stock at Douglas, as that will be a plain jane 25" sporter weight.

The "S" designation belongs with the 8x68, and differentiates the .318 bore from the .323 bore

Yep, that's the one.
