I dont know what this mold was orignialy called. Was it a 325 or 350 but it casts out at about 325. I havent shot it yet but i remember when it came out it was said it could be sized down to 452 for the colts. I looked at the first bullets and said no way. there wouldnt be a grease grove left and the star would break doing it with hard alloys as the sizer does size at 459. today i took some that were sized to 459 and ran them through a 454 then a 452 sizer and they did fine and looked great. then i said what the hell and just sized bare bullets inthe 452 sizer and it took alot less effort then i thought it would. Makes a wicked looking wfn for you guys that like wfns and the great thing is that it fits in a FA 454 cylinder with room to spare. this should be one hard hitting close range 454 bullet if i can get it to shoot.

what's the slogan?

this thread is worthless without PICS....

seriously... was that a group buy mold, and if so, are any still available?

I'm anxiously awaiting my mold from the group buy of the 6 cav's....

looking forward to it. Should make the ideal bullet for my little 16 tc carbine that dad uses. Running then about 12-1400 ought to hit hard and not be to bad on the old mans shoulder.

I just cast some up the other day.
I need to find some gaschecks to fit though. My lyman checks are WAY too small.
As far as load data for this boolit is concerned in 45 colt, see my thread on the 45 colt in the favorite cb cartridges forum. It's the 300 grain boolit I'm referring to in that thread.

The 452 Gators fit or are a little loose for me. I'm casting 50/50 WW/Lino.

Dan Walker. I don't see a "favorite cb cartridges forum column". Where would it be? I found it. Please ignore this message.

actually got some casted sized loaded and even blasted a couple out the front door. Loaded some with 15 grains of unique in the 4570 figureing it would be a nice light recoiling load for dad to use in his tc carbine. I shot them out of my #1 and they were about like shooting a 357 rifle. Im sure it will have a little more FEEL to it in the little 16 inch tc but still should be mild. Soon as all this fricking snow goes away (another foot last night) maybe i can get to the range and put them on paper.

What was the original designation on this bullet mould at the time of the Group Buy?

I would also like to see a photo of the bullet itself if anyone can provide it?

Jerry

The original spec was to fit the hornady 45 checks.
