Hello all I just got into casting and reloading It is impossible to find powder so I sent my nephew some money to pickup some power where he goes to college they asked what he was reloading he told them 7.62x25 and they recommend ramshot competition but I'm thinking it's to fast for a bottle neck cartridge any advice would be helpful

I would think that Ramshot Competition should work quite well being as it's a bit slower than one of my favorite load's for Tokarev... Bullseye at 6.7g, a Federal 100 SP primer with a Hornady 87g RN-SP pill this produces 1.5" groups at 11 yards at 1575 fps @ 65 degrees F out of my CZ-52.

Thanks for the response I was kinda worried it was too fast what about n310 by vihtavuori I know it's one of the fastest burning powders on the market their website says it's good for a wide range of pistol cartridges but idk about bottle neck rounds can I get enough powder to eject and chamber a new round without blowing up my gun the guy at sportsmans warehouse gave me the wrong powder and wouldn't take it back I asked for n320 he must have just grabbed the wrong bottle and I didn't notice till I got home

I don't know anything about 7.62x25, what is 'standard' operating pressure?
i use competition in my 30-30, very light loads, nice performance. Pressure might only be 15-20kpsi
i also use it in my 9mm, velocities are low but pressure is up there (prob 25-30k) and I get fine function. Others I've talked to don't get full cycling in 9mm with light boolit max loads

im guessing you are ok in the tokarev, but approach max with caution. I've been able to swap load data with n320 in *some* cartridges
