I use a 225gr rnfp in both, I also use a 165 rnfp, the lyman 452460, the lyman 452664.
a 230gr rn, the H&G 68 copy I have and probably a couple of others I'm forgetting.

if I had to 100% pick just one and use it for everything from hunting to target shooting I'd go with the 225gr rnfp [I'd rather it were the 452664 but it ain't]

I don't own a 45 acp, but if I did, I'd be inclined to shoot LEE 300 grain boolits through it, since it would of course be a revolver. Nice that NRA guide specifically has load data with a 300 grain cast and bluedot in the acp.

but id be just as happy to shoot a similar profile 250 grain boolit in both.

I like a 200 grain SWC in both. I use the same seating and taper crimp die for both. (light loads)

I have 3 different moulds for .45 pistol dropping from 225 to 255 grains. The 225 grain is a truncated cone profile and is the easiest to cast. It excells in 5 different .45 Colt and .45 ACP revolvers, one .445 Colt carbine and in a number of different 1911s. It will do to shoot anything that needs shooting with a .45.

I load for both, usually 230gr FMJ (Berry's) or 240gn LRN, no issues with either round, also 200gr LSWC.

I don't shoot the heavy cast that much in my 1911's but I do use the same 255 & 265 grain cast in both the 45 Colt & 45 ACP. I've never tried the 185 or 200 grain cast in the 45 Colt.

I have several molds for 45, 200 Mihec HP, 200gr SWC, 230 TC, Lee 300gr and a new NOE 350/325 fp/hp. I use the first 3 in both, the later 2 only in the colt (nmbh 45/45 convertible, large frame).

I have had excellent results from the Lee tc 452-230tl in both. I lapped my mold and it drops at .453 and I tl or powder coat and size to .453 or .452

I shoot the 200 grain RNFP bullet in both the .45 acp and .45 Colt with great results in both. I use other bullets, too, but that one has proven to be the one I use the most.

Hope this helps.

I have a RCBS mould that drops a 250-some gr. .45 Colt rnfp boolit that I shoot in my 1911s. Extremely accurate. Of course, I would not recommend the load I use for anyone else (5 gr. W231) but it works well in these pistols. Since I use a wood backstop and reclaim all (or most) of my fired boolits, it matters little to me what weight boolit I shoot. Have no idea what velocity is but it has an authoritative recoil about it and penetrates well in treated 6"x6" deck posts. Big Boomer
