I have an Ideal mold no. 457127 that drops really cute little round nosed boolits that weigh just under 200 gr with my alloy. Only problem is I can't find any loads for a 45/70 for boolits that weigh less than 300 gr. If I can find a reasonable load I will be shooting it in a Marlin 1895 Cowboy. I would like to use Trail Boss powder since I have in some quantity. Any load would be greatly appreciated. At this weight this boolit will probably be primarily used to make holes in paper and soda cans. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Look at their website.they have a formula to figure out a load of trail boss for anything.

It should be a hoot to shoot.

Look up 45/70 gallery loads. I don't have any recipes but if I was looking to put some together, it would be with faster pistol powders.

I followed their instructions in my 7mm TCU and got great results.
