Looking For 9.3x72R cartridge information

Hi guys! A friend of mine wants to reload for this old 9.3x72R rifle. I have no more info on The rifle yet.

i believe its a strictly black powder only proposition.

This is what I believe is true so far, please chime in to correct and or inform me of the proper info:

-The bullet is .366" nominal diameter

-black powder only

-conventional boxer primed


i will have to find a source for dies, and maybe some extra brass.
any help would be appreciated!

Grafs has/had brass but you might want to get a loan application first. I know there are still rifles built for this in smokeless and it might be best to look at PRIVI for brass. I think that they still load it. It is a really well regarded cartridge but I have never worked with it. I really like its rimless brother the 9.3X62. Noe had a very fine mold for it.

Thankyou for the heads up! Are you refering to The 9.3x74R ? Or the 9.3x72R? Just for clarification. The 9.3x74R is much more powerful for sure.

Huntington's has cases. $56.98 for 20 so not completely out of line for modern prices.

CH4D has four different dies depending on exactly what you have. $98.80 for a set.

Bullets and powder are not unusual. Should be easy to get it up and running, just takes money!

If this is for an older rifle or drilling, and you want to try jacketed bullets, be sure to slug the bore as many are a bit under size so .366 diameter bullets would push the pressure up if they will chamber.
