Anybody loading cast for one of these? Any experience available will be appreciated. My 7X65R should be here in less than a month and I'm contemplating using CB's in it as well as FLGC's, IF I can get reasonable velocities (>2500 fps) out of it w/o leading. I know fast twist barrels have been a problem (6.5's and 7mm's) so don't know it it's worth the hassle. Lower velocities are not likely to be acceptable as the rifle will be regulated for 156 gr. FLGC's at ~ 2700 - 2800 fps. Accuracy will be non-existent, or at least unacceptable at ranges beyond 25 - 50 yards at velocities much below ~2500 fps. Pilgrim

All I can tell you is to try it. I've loaded for a number of double guns but they were all bigger bores so the velocity is lower. You can water quench the bullets or use Lino for a harder bullet ofcourse. Being a new rifle your bore should be smooth. My own 450/400 was made in 1913 and won't shoot cast worth a hoot....the bore is too rough. It is however an exceptional shooter with Woodleigh's. Round up a few different bullets and give it a shot and if you reduce velocity try the 200 yard leaf for elevation....windage you won't know about before you shoot it because it relies a great deal on barrel time. When you bench soot it..don't rest the forearm on the bags...double guns shouldn't be supported with just you arms to regulate properly.
