Looking into the future and putting money away,
I'm reading the straight walled cases make better loading for mousefarts
the older cal rifles are hard to come by or very spendy

so what CVA scout V2 or hunter
rifle or leaning towards there pistols also,

357
300 BO (leery of future bans but I'm dumb also)
44 Mag

would you buy if you was looking to use it as a designated casting/mousefart gun

thanks
John

I have the Scout V2 in 44 mag. Full house loads are very comfortable to shoot. Mouse farts? Why? A 235gr. Noe boolit at 1640 fps is very easy on the shoulder. If all you wanted to shoot was paper I would opt for the .357. If deer and black bear might be on the menu I would go with the 44 mag. I love mine.

+1 on the 44 mag. My mouse-fart loads are 240 gr swc 44 specials over a load of 700x. POI is just a little lower at 100 yards but shoots like my 22 only quieter.

Mines the rifle but the pistol is high on my list. I'd be interested to hear the pros and cons of 357 vs 44 in the pistol. I still cant make up my mind. I want both.

Out of the bunch I would opt for the 44 maggie. I've got a 26" 44 mag Encore barrel that I like for quiet pest work. 429303 in a 44 spec case to decrease dead air space to lesson sound. It's a big 44 Super Colibri.

Not a CVA, but my H&R .44 Mag with 22" barrel is great for light quiet loads. 240gr SWC over 2.5-2.7grs of either Red Dot or Unique is quieter than my pellet gun.
