For some reason i always like stag grips. Single action they just add a classic look to them. I even have a set on my 1911. A lot of my knifes have stag grips. A few people have made comments i like those grip real one not fake ones. I have also a Colt single action nickel plate made in 1902 with stag grips:grin:. Just my personal opinion.

Well you KNOW now that you got to post pics of this fine ol' girl! I had a factory nickeled 5 1/2 x .45 made in 1927 with real peal grips, lettered as such, OH MAN was that a sweet one!

I like real animal bone or horn grips. Stag, fossil tusk, moose, I like everything but ivory, not a big fan of elephant ivory. Love the look of it but can't appreciate it knowing it's history and what it's done to the elephants.

With the price of ivory, and the fact that ivory is prone to cracking, stag should become a more popular exotic grip material. The grand old man Keith rated stag second to ivory above all other grip materials.

Sambar stag is very difficult to get in the U.S. now in big enough pieces for revolvers, due to the Indian government virtually shutting down export of it some years ago.

I like stag grips also. Mine are all elk stag. The top one is a 5 1/2", but not nickle.

Kevin Really nice looking group you have. I bet if you have 20 guns on a table and one has stag grips people will want to pick it up and say nice looking gun. Stag or bone has a classic look to it. Rubber grips are plain ugly to me. Wood would be my next choice of grips.
