Hi All,

I have a borrowed set of 6.5X55 true line jr. dies that I want to try in a tong tool. The only die I want to try is the seater.

Which handle do I use? How do I tell the handles apart, that I am getting the correct one if I get one at a gun show or on Ebay?

Thanks and regards,

Gandolf

Gandolf:

Unless you have an older steel handle set with the plum-colored bluing and marked "6.5 x 55", you'll have to use an alloy 310 handle set with the long "spout" and the correct screw-in case-head adapter (I don't have the adapter number in any of my lists, but they did make them; if you are using re-formed 8mm or .30-'06 cases you may get away with the #2 adapter, if the case hasn't swollen too much at the head.) But Randy Davis at "The 310 Shop" inTombstone, AZ - (520) 457-2430 - has used 6.5 Swede 310 dies in stock and should be able to help you out, with either the hardware or advice as to what to look for. Tell him I sent you; he's bailed me out on a number of occasions.

Gandolf,

Randy has a website with lots of 310 stuff.

http://www.cnyauctions.com/the310shop.htm

A few of us still use the 310 tool for loading.

I use it for some of my loads that I don't need a progressive to load.

Randy sold me a set of dies for the 405 WCF.

I also load the 22 WCF and some 45-70 with it.

Great little tool.

I can remember going through the process of Lee hammer in dies to Lyman 310 for .357 mags in handguns. My hands still hurt just thinking of that tool. Never again. Get a good press and your worries are over still have my old RCBS Rockchucker and use it! Why these are still on the market, I'll never know?
