For you folks with the 460 Rowland, are you running a Glock 21 or Colt 1911 platform? I would think the G21 would be more picky with the ammo, with a full mag.

I'm running a Springfield 1911 Clark Custom converted for 460 Rowland.....it's sure a hog killer. Don't know anyone off hand running a Glock 460 so I can't help ya there. FYI, you can run 45 super loads in 460 brass, change back to stock recoil spring & it runs like a top, recoil is almost nonexistent comparatively. At least that's what I use in bowling pin matches now8-)

You getting any pass through with the bullets on hogs? What his your hog load.

Another option to consider is the .45 Super itself if you handload, you can load 460 Rowland level loads in .45 Super brass, plus since the brass is the same external dimensions as the ACP, you can get big power but not lose the ability to shoot .45 ACP from the same setup. If you do not handload then the Rowland makes more sense as you can't buy upper level .45 Super from anywhere. For those wondering, Starline .45 Super brass is as strong as their 460 Rowland brass, the 460 uses slightly longer brass, but has the same OAL as the .45 ACP and Super, so as long as the same OAL is used (in a barrel with proper case support) you can load the .45 Super the same as the 460 Rowland, I've done it many times.

(Also I've shot .45 Super with good success from the Ruger Blackhawk convertible .45 models!)

I use a KKM Glock 21 4 port compensated barrel and some of the loads I've ran are 255gr Beartooth WFN to 1325 fps, a 275gr hardcast to 1200 fps and even a 300gr LFNGC hardcast to 1150 fps in the .45 Super. In that setup, the .45 ACP feels about like a 38 Special! The 21 isn't picky at all with ammo, but that said some of the heavier hardcasts are originally meant for revolver use and as such, have rather blunt profiles so just test them out.

I have been running 45 super in a Ruger with a conversion cylinder. Have never even seen it in a store to buy, but I reload so not an issue. A friend wants to run super in his glock now.

I got the drop in kit for mine, had to do a little fitting though. My hunting loads are an NOE 240gr over 12.2gr Longshot @1370fps, shot a sow a couple weeks ago running away (Tx heart shot lol) came out under rt side of jaw...about 3ft of penetration but didn't hit any major bones. Dbl shoulder hit may stop the slug, don't know but I've hit a shoulder quartering to me & had exit on off side hip.

I get a few requests from Glock owners for a lengthened throat so they can run .45 Super seated out long, works really good.

This is a KKM barrel for a G21:

Different KKM barrel for G21:

Dummies sent in by customers for use as a go/no-go gauge. All of these "plunk" in these long-throat barrels, owners say they shoot really good and are quite happy with the results.
