Hi:

What brand of shellholder’s (other than Pacific) will fit a Pacific Press. Are there universal holders or what.

I have a chance to buy the press in near new condition for $ 30.00.

Thanks,

Terry

It depends on the press.
Many of the (much older)Pacific presses had the shellholder machined into the ram, and to reload something with a different case-head, you changed the ram. Only two pins, and only takes a few seconds, but quite inconvenient by today's standards.

The rest of them have "universal" rams that accept regular shellholders. Any brand should do.
A brand new "universal" ram can be had from CH4D for about $20 IIRC.

For $30 I'd say jump on it, especially if it has the spent primer catch cup.

Good chance if its in great shape its got a universal ram even if not switching it to universal is very easy.

If you are a "purist" I have seen the pacific rams with the built in shell holder in different sizes on eBay before, but when I was looking at a used pacific I figured the replacement ram from CH4D was what I would do. I'm a gonna use it not charge people to come look at it as a museum piece.
