A friend called yesterday because a family friend's husband had recently passed. He was, apparently, an avid reloader and I was trying to evaluate some equipment from photos and ran into a road block. Can anyone ID the die in each tray that has the graduations on it - it almost looks like the eyepiece on the rear of a scope. In the attached photo there is one of these dies in each partition of the tray. In the bottom right partition, this unknown device is at the very bottom. Some sort of a precision doohickey for ...?

I wish she lived closer so I could see this in person but, in the meantime, I have to make do with photos.

Thank you

Looks like micrometer seating dies.

Appears to be a RCBS precission seater die. I have in 243 and 308.

To the unknowing, I would assume then that this allows one to set bullets to three decimal places versus my dies two? Can one give a valuation of this precision diE, assuming it isn't a piece of a normal die set? From other photos her husband had a plethora of "match grade" bullets in 7mm, .224, .308 etc and I can assume that he may have done some precision shooting.

Thank you,

Those mic die heads add a bit of value to the dies set! I know I sold a use RCBS 30-06 for $100.00 and see them up around $150.00

They are "RCBS Competition Seater Dies" Rcbs mic dies have the stubby looking mic. They run about 80ish dollars new for common calibers.
