I'm thinking about buying a m&p 45. Just wondering if Cast Boolits will shoot good in this gun or will it be more like a glock. I guess my question is will this gun have polygonal rifling or regular land and groove.

Cast shoots great in a glock , so I am sure it will in an m&p. Truth be told other barring too soft of lead or too much velocity without gas check any barrel you find on a modern firearm will shoot lead without a problem. Stop reading, start shooting.

The M&P45 has conventional rifling, and cast works just fine out of them.

Cant shoot it yet, just thinking about what I wanna buy next. Im glad to hear they have conventional rifling as I love the way they feel. I dont know much about cast in modern firearms other than I know cast shoots great in my kel tec PF9. Right now im developing loads for an old police positive special 32 new police caliber. Thanks for the replies

Everybody knows you'll ruin your barrel with those lead bullets.

I use cast in my M&P 9. No problem what so ever.

Cast boolits won't hurt your M&P. Just don't shoot at targets too far away because that could strain your barrel.

yea distance is really what im worried about. LOL. Of course cast isnt going to hurt the barrel in fact they will be easier on the barrel. I was just wondering if it had conventional rifling and how cast performed when loaded properly in this gun

My M&P 45C gobbles up 230 grain RN boolits without any issues whatsoever. My gun is box stock except for an Apex sear - something that I highly recommend for this gun.

Thanks guys, appreciate the info. cant decide if I want the 9mm core or a standard full size 45. I need to think about the exact application I need the gun for. Im thinking about steel challenge and other competition so I think the core would be a good choice. I already have my good carry gun. There are so many choices but im not complaining

Some M&P's have issues with a ridge in the throat which requires additional steps. Try what you have first, and if you have problems, while rare, it is not uncommon with M&P's. Throating Reamer quickly corrected it here for many, including my M&P..

Wow, looks good. Did you do that job? What kind of tools does it take?
