50/70 twist rate

Will a barrel with a 1/22" twist work in 50/70 ? Barrel is an unfired Badger, 28" length with a .510 bore. Receiver is rated for BP only.

A .510" bore sounds big. Groove maybe????

A 1/22 ROT will need at least a 630 gr on the light side. A 680 is minimum I can use in my .50-2.5 and hold any accuracy. The short case you have I don't think you can get enough push to get the most out of it. Just a guess cause I don't have a little .50 to know for sure. This is something you will have to find out by trying it.

Sorry, yes a .510"groove. I am going to try some 500 gr (Heaviest I have) . I know that some liners are 1/20". Find out soon enough !
