I broke a set of Lee 6-cavity mould handles from hitting the pivot bolt. I welded the handles.

Then, I changed the pivot bolt. I used a 3/8x24x1 1/2 bolt that had 3/8 to 1/2 inch of the bolt that was not threaded. I ran a nut up against the non threaded section and tightened it. Then I installed the bolt into the handles and re-installed the original locking nut.

Now the bolt head sticks up high enough to hit it without hitting the handles and the sprue plate clears between the nut and the bolt head.

This is for those who can knock the edges off an anvil with a rubber hammer.
