Looks like you did your homework and also found a good solid used revolver in a great caliber for a good price. Nice report too. I don't own a GP100 but your report is so good that I think I should at least consider one if I see one as nice as yours.

I didn't watch the video but I will say that the GP-100 is a good gun. I've owned and shot a bunch over the years and they are incredibly strong guns. The GP-100 is roughly in the same class as the L-frame Smith & Wesson's like the 686 and probably a bit tougher. Now that's not to say that the S&W is weak, it is not but the GP-100 has a huge margin of strength.
They are capable of very good accuracy and if you live long enough to wear one out you will have had a wonderfully long life. The new S&W's have the ridiculous internal lock and the Ruger does not. The Ruger generally sells for less.
Sooner or later the topic of the action will come up. If one wishes to improve the GP-100 action it is a simple undertaking. With a spring & shim kit plus some judicious polishing; the action can be made to rival any new "out of the box" S&W.
They are solid guns and good values.

Those Geeps are just outstanding. I miss the early 2000's when you could buy 'em like new all day for like $225.00. On the odd occasion a used one surfaces nowadays it's $400.00 minimum, $500.00+ for an uncommon version.

If you decide you want to try a set of reduced power springs (hammer spring and trigger return spring) for your GP-100, these are great folks to deal with : http://michigancenteroutdoors.com/
Don't go crazy with the springs. Dropping the mainspring by a few pounds is plenty. IIRC the factory spring is 14# and you can drop down to a 12# mainspring and still have 100% reliability. [you can go lower if the correct parts are polished but I find the 9# mainspring is too weak for 100% reliability] You can reduce the trigger return spring a little and still have a decent trigger reset or you can just try the mainspring first and see if you like it. The factory trigger spring is 12# and you can go down to 10# with no problem

You can also get a shim kit from them. While not necessary, the shims allow you to remove the play in some of the components like the trigger, hammer dog and hammer. The trigger and hammer dogs shims are a one time install, the hammer shims will come out every time you pull the hammer out of the gun and can become a bit of a pain to re-install.
I can highly recommend reading lowegan's IBOK article on the GP-100
