I just got this mould in from Swede thinking it would do the job but my slug showed .317. Is there a mould made for 318+???

A mold for .32 Win Spl should drop upwards of .321. Lee makes a boolit for 8mm J bores (slightly smaller than regular 8mm), I think it is about .318 or so. Probably others out there.

What does the mould cast with your alloy? I presume the "slug" is from your barrel.

I've not cast with it yet. My alloy is hardball. I need 318 so it may not be enough to get there. Im just looking at options. This is going to be a challenge to get it to shoot.

My noe mold casts a little bigger than advertised. Using range scrap.

What is your nose dimension for the 316 size mould?

The standard diameter for the J-bore Mauser is indeed .318in. But an alloy would have to be very and possibly counterproductively hard, not to expand one or two thousandths in its first moments of motion in a rifle of the .303's pressure. Unless you have some sort of return privilege on the mould, conditional on its not having been used, it is worth giving it a try.
