The rubber grips have gotten real hard and slippery. Having a hard time getting a good grip and not slipping. So what grip are you using and why? Thanks for the info Clint

I recently switched from the original wood grips to the Pachmayer Presentation grips. I prefer the looks of wood but the performance of the Pachmayers is far and away above the originals. The knuckle of my right hand middle finger has been thanking me ever since and I can get a good tight, controllable grip.

I've got a few Redhawks, and they all wear different grips. It goes to what fits YOUR hands, and how you like them. If you need a spare set of factory wooden ones, I have a few sets.

I got tired of the trigger guard rapping my finger. Put on a set of pachmayer deaccelerator grips. Made a big difference. Frank

Pachmayer Presentation on mine too. I like wood but the pachs work better for me on the Redhawk. Mine's a 5.5 44.

My Redhawk is a 44mag 7 1/2 trimmed to 4". Guess I will order a new set of Packs and be happy. Clint

Why ruin a good 7-1/2" to 4"? it will get you for sure. I do not like the RH grip at it's best.

I have one that I thought about getting round butted. I held one of the new 2.5" ones and the grip is much better.

Me too! The RH pull is too short for me. The Decelerator adds to the backstrap and lengthens the pull.

Got a new set of packs coming. I think after shooting my buddy's 4" that I will carry and use it more As a 4". Easier to draw and carry as well as being lighter. I really like the grip on the SRH but is to heavy to just have it on your belt in case. My gun my way. Clint

I like Herrett's. I sent them a block of Claro walnut and a tracing of my hand, and this is what I got back.

Neat picture. Each piece of wood is quite beautiful (grips, block, and the burl in the back background).

I started with the factory wood grips, went to some decelerators, then presentations...none were just right.

Now my RH has some Hogue monogrips on it and fits my hands well. I'll try those for awhile and see how they do.
