I got the Thompson Contender with a 357 Maximum barrel on Saturday. The original plan was to trade my brother a savage 22 over 410 for it but he really wanted a Mossberg 12 guage riot gun and I just happen to have one. It was a better deal for me, because I don't have to explain to my grandson why I traded his 22 410 OU off. I had told him that that was his gun several years ago. I guess you could call me an Indian giver but I made it right buy shear luck.

You are going to like it. I sure like mine in the TC carbine.

Mine has the flash hider extension on it so it is 16 1\4" long and I have a rifle stock also, I'm set.

Is the extension permanently attached ? IIRC the extension has to be welded or pinned. I tack welded a muzzle brake on a 15" Encore barrel to make it legal as a rifle.

Actually it was epoxed on by my older deceased brother. My youngest brother had it for a number of years and only shot it a very few times. I traded him out of it. The extension had come about half way off. I took it completely off and I'm going to have a local smith silver solder it on properly.

Enjoy - It's a good combo - you'll want heavy boolit mold for it.
My recommendation is the RCBS 200 grain FNGC
