30 carbine?

hey gents could a tc contender 10" 30 carbine be used with heavy boolits,like a 300 wisper?

I have a 10" Contender in 30-20 (.308" bore 32-20) and with the factory 1/10 twist you can drive a 168 MK to ~1000 fps. I don;t know how long the throats are on 30 carbine barrels, but the 30-20 throats are cut long like those in TCU chambers.

thanks,john,i found a 10" 30 carbine contender barrel for $150.00,it's a 1in12 twist.i'm trying to make up my mind to buy it or not

That's a fair price for a hard to find caliber, I wouldn't wait too long to buy that.

i also found a 30 herrett for $175.00. 10"round barrel with open sights.
