I have a pre-64 Winchester 30-30 that I would like to shoot some lead boolits out of. I do not cast my bullets and having a hard time finding some lead boolits.

Any suggestions where I might find some in the 130 to 150 gn for target and plinking around with.

http://www.beartoothbullets.com/bulletselect/index.htm

They show 140 and 155 gr. available for .30-.30 as well as 173 gr.

Slug your bore then order at 0.001" to 0.002" over groove diameter.

A few folks around here sell boolits in the swapping & selling section but most of us think it's more fun to cast our own. A 30-30 is an awesome and forgiving cartridge to cast for. Carolina Bullets, for example, sells many of the bullets that we talk about here and trying a few of his offerings can help you decide which mould to start with. I've never done business with Jerry (Carolina Bullets) but I know he's a good guy to deal with.

this is what i get from carolina, 165gr(174gr actually) ranch dog at .311" for my 30-40 krag.

another might be form air tactics, it uses a 190gr(194gr actually) rnfp at .311" also for my 30-40 krag. the 190gr i don't know if these will work in the 30-30.

The best boolit you can get is a Ranch Dog. Some one out there makes and sells them.

Its the only 30 cal mould I use

Knotright, adding where in the country you're located might help with suggestions.

Often as not the cowboy action shooters in your area will know of someone that sells the cast bullets they use and that someone will also have cast bullets in the .308 size range. Most of the cowboy action shooters go through ammo much too fast to cast their own so they rely on suppliers to keep them happy. I'm sure there's one within your state at least that would also be able to get bullets for your needs. So find out where the cowboy action shooting is going on and drop by to watch and talk and ask them where they get there bullets for reloading.

Advertize right here on C/Boolits (Swappin & Sellin) How many? What profile you desire? Its preferred diameter? Gas /Check or not? Someone will cast or share what they have.

He had a rough time of it at least once last year, hope he gets better soon.

BC Rider, I am in Savannah, GA. Not really sure what size I need for the 30-30. Hoping to slug the barrel this weekend.
