Hey members:
Anyone have any extra 12 guage 3" hulls I could buy, trade for, beg from you. I want to load some 735 rb loads for my Remington 870, w/rifled barrel. Have read promising results on this site. Would like to give it a try. I would also need some fiber filler wads.
Regards
Jack

I have had best results using a plastic gas seal then hard card wad column with nitro card wad under 0.735" balls. A scoop of cornmeal or Cream 'O Wheat (okay Hogtamer... or grits) under the ball is a good thing too.

Watch your load data, they weigh over 1 1/4 oz. so are a pretty heavy slug (yeah, yeah I know there are heavier slugs but load data is scarce.) I loaded them over up to 38 grs. of Blue Dot in Fiocchi hulls. The load data I used was pressure tested and ran up to 44 grs. @ 12,500 PSI but I stopped at 38 grs. as recoil was stout, to say the least, in my single shot and also in a Rifled Remington 870 with hard rubber butt (ouch!).

The 870 shot them very well and that was from 2 3/4" hulls so 3" hull should be even better.

I am beginning to wonder why I don't just break down and go rifled gun but I am stubborn and like smoothbore versatility. Can't justify both right now so I play with the toys I have.

Please keep us posted on results.
