large 310 v small 310 handles

been wondering and will definetly read thru this posting area for more info but in short my question is this ... I have the large handles for my 45-70 die set and want to load 357 mag as well as 45 colt ... will these dies work in my large handles or do I have to buy the small set?

You will have to buy the small handles to load pistol cartridges, 357 and 45 Colt and most others.The threads are compatible, but the smaller length of the pistol dies cannot get far enough in with the large handles. I started out with the 310 once upon a once and could never understand why they didn't just engineer some sort of adapter to allow what you re asking about. LLS

thankyou for that. I did read thru and it was very helpful ... seems like I have some very old Lyman loading books somewhere so I will dig them out and see if they are old enough to address the 310.

As I said in the other thread, go to Castpics, there's some old Lyman's there for download and I know they have 310 info in them. Regards, Woody
