A friend of mine and his 3 sons all bought one each of the SD40 VE. They are all having the same problem. The guns are having feeding problems no mater the ammo, factory or reloads, cast or jacketed. One of sons took his to a smith, and he polished and worked on the ramp. It helped a little but he is still having problems. Has any one been having these problems with this pistol and what was done to fix the problem?

If they are new,,, Send them right back where they came from.

There shouldn't be any problems out of the box with a pistol like this, they are just too simple to have problems.

If they have problems then the factory needs to be aware of the problems and they also will fix the guns at no cost.

If all three do the same thing this could be the result of a seriously bad run of parts. The factory needs to know, so they can correct it.

There are probably others out there as well.

Good advice and when they come back trade them for Glocks and you will permanently resolve the problem. :bigsmyl2:

send them back to S&W the process is relatively easy the manufacturer sends a call tag for it you had it to the UPS man and he brings it back in a few weeks

I have the older S&W SW40F it feeds everything fine , I have not heard of wide spread issues with the sw40ve or sd40ve feeding they are typically a decent value in defensive side arm and work well

the bigest compaint being the heavy long trigger this is apparently better with the SD than it was with the SW series but the Apex SD/SW trigger kit and spring kit is a welcomed improvement

even glocks sometimes have an issue

Have an older 9mm, never had any problems with it. There must be something different with the feed ramp on the 40.
Some of them are a little picky about what you feed them.

any time you have short and fat proper feeding gets more difficult , in people or guns.
