I recently acquired a RCBS # 82156 mould for 240 grain 44 caliber gas check boolit. I was wondering if anyone had a pet load for this boolit they would like to share. I will be pushing it down the tube of a 10" Contender. Thanks for your input.

I have no experience with that boolit ..... not that it's not worthy ......... I just don't have it.

My .02 worth involves the plain based RCBS 250K.

And with that boolit, I have a whole bunch of good loads ...... but my over the top standout ....... is a Federal mag primer and 11.8 gr. of HS-6.

With a Contender you are likely wanting to run higher end than my above load ....... and that's where 2400 and H110 shine.

As I recall, I run 2400 anywhere from 17.5 gr. with a magnum primer to 20.6 gr. with a standard primer ........ where as I switch down to standard primers at around 18.0 gr. and above.

The H110 I go for the 250K was a published load again, with the magnum primer again getting the nod.

Hope I've helped.

I do not have any HS-6 or 2400, but I do have the H-100. Thanks for the reply.

I've been pushing that bullet through a TC44-14" for decades. 14.5 grains of AA#7 works.

Shamefully I must say I have not tried casting this boolet yet, even though I got this mould over a year back in a trade.Robert
