Pardon me if this a reccuring thread, but I haven't seen it and I don't think I'm really still new around here (but probably am anyway). But since I haven't seen it I think its about time to talk about high velocity AND accurate loads.

How fast have you shot cast bullets into what you consider is an accurate group? What was the bullet, cartridge, powder and charge, AND velocity.

I haven't gotten too far with this yet (I just got my chrony back after too close an encounter with a wad out of my 38-55.

But that load was accurate but not fast.

With a Hoch 330gr nose pour bullet over 18.0 gr AA5744, about the same amount of COW and a chrony-killing wad saturated with 50-50 bee's wax:Crisco it shoots into 2" at 100 yds right about at 1350 fps.

Now that I've got the Chrony back I'm going to try to run up some loads above 2000 fps with Lee 180 gr GC bullets in my K-31. They're accurate with 22.0 gr 4198, it opens up with much more, but maybe it'll come back at stiffer loads?
