Can 571 Win. powder be used with this slug using the same approximate load?
I noticed that it is one powder slower than Blue Dot. on the burn rate chart.

98 Blue Dot (Alliant)
99 571 (Winchester)

HS-7 is the same as the old Win. 571. But I think HS-7 is discontinued now.

I am having a tough time finding Blue Dot in any quantity, I did manage to get 1/2 lb on a trade. I do have about 4 lbs of W571 from my old duck hunting days way back when. The powder has been stored properly and after seeing it was very similar to BD I thought I'd give it a try. I only made a load of 42 grs. in a red AA12 ga wad, I needed to add two fiber cards to make up the volume in the AA 2 3/4" hull to get a suitable crimp.
Any way I chronied the load and got approx. 1300 fps. had three shots touching so I'm pleased with that. I filled the back of the lyman 525 with wax to keep the wad from driving into the back of the slug. The spent wads looked good too. My next outing I'm going to try 44 and 45 grs.

Excellent load development, I found similar results, but groups went big with higher charges.

Not sure you could improve on that. Wow, that is impressive. I would keep looking for Blue Dot and use Unique if you can find that, until you find more Blue Dot.

I realize things might change for the worse, when I was using Blue Dot I was getting in the mid 1400's for speed and 2-4 in. groups, and I wanted to see if I could achieve that with this powder. I did notice the wads appeared much better with this combination. I may have to settle for 1300 fps. if groups go south. Also these bullets had little to no alloy which might be better in my gun.

A MOA shotgun load at 100 yds is pretty dang amazing. And as Jmort is fond of saying, a freight train. Guess I'm gonna have to break down and buy that mold.

Pretty impressive alright! I have to assume it is a rifled gun.

Yes, Blue Dot is not to be had where I am anymore. Too bad, I liked Blue Dot. Got a couple of pounds of SR4756 to use up then I don't know what I will be able to get. Well, I do still have 3 or 4 pounds of Unique too. It isn't slow enough for heavy loads under heavy slugs but okay for light loads under heavy slugs or good loads under "light" slugs (1 to 1 1/4 oz.).

I used 43.0g of blue dot and out of a 20 inch smooth bore I got a 3 inch group at 50 yards. Awesome for what I'm using it for. Awesome group you got there!

I wouldn't change a thing with that load at at 1300 fps it'll flatten them. Another powder that I had good luck with using that slug is Winchester WSF.

What shotgun, rifled barrel?

This was shot with a savage 210F , it's stock except for the modification to the stock. I filled the inside of the butt with silicone caulking (in stages so it would thoroughly dry) and installed a limbsaver pad. I wanted the added weight and thought the elasticity of the silicone would help absorb some of the recoil.
