I have one I'm thinking on selling. Arsenal refurbed. I cleaned the bore ( dark with good shiny lands) but haven't shot the gun. Rated a 7 on the collectability scale of 10 at: www7.62x54r.net just wondering what it might be worth$$$.

1943s are pretty uncommon only 50,000 made and sought after, I would take no less than 350 and even that maybe a bit soft. never know what will happen when a couple collectors what it.

I got rid of a 91 model 1943 Izhesk not long ago. Dont know about the collectibility, it was a clunker. Terrible tooling marks, and key holed bullets at 20ft.

I havent been seeing much in way of mosins available anymore, so prices should start to climb like it did with mausers.

John Miller,
That's my understanding also- 50,000 in total that were used as trail guns. 1943 was the first and lowest production year. Hence a 7 on a scale of ten.

if I had the coin I would offer, but I am holding out for an M39 and would need to sweet talk the wife

Remiel,
For even money I'd take an M-39 over a M-44. Even a nice Finn M-91 will easily outshoot the Russian carbines. Full disclosure- I paid 3 bills for this M-44

I only have room in the cabinet for 2 more and the wife wants me to unload my old truck for a newer one, that and my mauser and mosin projects are unfinished at the moment. Now that I think about it I should just get the compound bow she wants just to be safe....

Sweet-talking the wife is almost never a bad idea.
