Recently acquired an H&G #43, it drops a 173 gr .359 keith style boolit. I also just picked up an 1894C (coincidence?) and was wondering what some of your favorite loads are using this boolit from .38 sp brass to be used ONLY in .357 mag pistols/rifles only (I've read OAL problems prohibit using this in 357 mag brass in the 1894c) I'm not looking for barn burners, maybe 1000-1200 fps MAX loads. Any help or ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I've had abismal luck running SWC through my Marlin 1894, the little lip on the bullet gets caught and shaved off and all around makes it hard to work the lever.

Now I only use a RNFP or TC style bullet.

As far as loads go I use a 158gr RNFP with 3.3grains of Solo-1000. I haven't crono'd it but according to the load manual out of the pistol is should be around 800-825 fps and I'm assuming you'ld get a bit of a jump on that with a rifle. This load is with a 38 special.

I don't have a .357 Marlin, but I've had good results with a 163 gr as cast 358156 over 5.4 gr of Unique in various S&W .38 special revolvers. It's a +P load from the Lyman manuals. It clocks 905 fps from my 3" Model 10, about 960 in a 4".
