Ruger Blackhawk Lipsy 45 Colt/45 ACP

Will this handle full power Colt loads?

This Flattop looks sweet. I want one that will handle full tilt loads.

I thought I heard some Blackhawks are stronger than others.

What do you guys think?

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but that one will not handle tier 3 loads. (30,000 psi)It should be able to handle the tier 2 loads fine.(up to 23,000 psi)

If you look at it, the Flattop models are on the "mid-frame" size & not recommended for full tilt ammo. The "normal" full sized Blackhawk (with the rear sight protected ears) frame is the full size & will handle the "Ruger/TC" ammo.

What contender1 said. Flattops are midsize, not the same strength
as the regular old BH. New Vaqueros are midsize, "old" Vaqueros (only
say Vaquero on them, not "old") are the same frame as the BH
but SAA type rear sight in frame.

I have heard the mid frame is much stronger then a Colt but should not be pushed anyway.

try hangin on to one with a tier 3 load.
I have one of the convertibles, Hogue grips is my new best friend with tier 2 type loads.
950-1000 fps from a 250-270gr boolit is pretty formidable medicine anywhere.

People will argue over this but, the mid frame Rugers will handle the pressures of +P 45ACP loads. (230000PSI) Ruger offered a dual cylinder New Vaquero (mid frame) in 45ACP with no warning to not use +P in them. And so the story goes.
As always it is your gun and do whatever you want.
In my New Vaquero (mid frame) I use 19 gr. 2400 with the RCBS 270 SAA or 24 gr H110 with the same bullet or 20 gr 2400 with the 454424 bullet.
