I've done the "search" and come up with much information but need a bit of "counseling" on bullet specs...
First as much as I'd like to I can't cast...physical issues...doc's orders..however I do load as much cast as possible...been using Missouri "cowboy" (12 hardness) in 45 Colt, 44 special and in 38 special...get along great...now I'm interested in shooting cast in my 1917 Eddystone Enfield...we have a caster in my area (Redline) that has a 165 cast with the red "crayola" lube or with a poly coat (users pick of the 20 hardness with red lube or the poly)...price is $45 per 500 and I can just pick them up. The bullet is a 165 grain flat nose (this is the only 30 cal bullet he has now)...I'd guess it's probably for sometinhg more like a 30-30 but can't see any reason I can't load 16 grains of 2400 as a starting point and just punch holes in paper...I'm trying to post a picture of the bullet...I don't have the mold # or information...just curious if this design should be a reasonable projectile for an 06 Enfield with the 2400 and if the poly coat or the plain would much matter.....thanks
