I have a Winchester 94 in .44Mag that is made 1976, I think ( 44500XX). The action is very hard to close and I think it is the ejector to blame as it is the final stage of the cycle. Compared to my Win 94ae in 30-30 this rifle is a nightmare. The 44 seems to have two springs behind the ejector? I have worked a lot with the action to get it smooth, removing the tool marks left by the factory. Does the .44 really need both springs? It is impossible to cycle the action with the butt to the shoulder without marring your fingers.:| The condition of the rifle is as new, maybe shot about a hundred rounds.
