I have and have had for about 10 years one of each.

They recently piqued my interest (they were in the way as I was moving stuff out of the back of the safe) and I have started a quest to try to find information about them.
I did find one or two little snippets on the net about the VZ52 and one pretty decent write-up on the Hakim.

Any experts out there that can point me in the right direction(s)??

The Hakim is really well made and in good condition, and the VZ 52 seems to match what one site said, (heavily covered in black pebble finish paint. No rust anywhere though. IF it had a 7.62X39 rather than the 7.62X45 barrel I would be thrilled! or even if I could find a reasonably priced 7.62X39 barrel.

You can shoot cast in the Hakim, and make it cycle just have to adjust the gas to wide open for reduced loads that is the six-o-clock position. If you are going to shoot full loads set the arrow at the 7:30to8-o-clock position. You need a tool and this man makes them out of stainless you will never wear it out. Ray Del Vecchio

He also has parts for the Hakim which are not easy to find write him and he will send you a parts list and prices.
The CZ52 I have no knowledge of, only seen one and it looked like a rubber covered pickup bumper.
The Hakim is one of my most accurate rifles and they don't call it a extreme Hakim for nothing. Ask Ray if he has any of the front sights that are adjustable for height like the SKS sights, he made a few of them for the Hakim and it is a lot easer than having three different heights of front sights.
