Others must have discovered this before, but here it is again since I found nothing. I recently bought a Lee 4 hole turret press to load handgun rounds, but also to leave the dies set up in the turret. I noticed the Lee Lube and Size kit containers looked an awful lot like the turret holders with 3 less holes. Sure enough, the turret fits just right. I trimmed the sleeve that came on the sizing die to prop up the side opposite the molded in container hole so the turret doesn't tip.

I think I have heard of people who only use 3 dies in the 4 hole turret plates putting the bullet sizing die into the 4th hole then when the want to size they pull the index rod on the turret press to use it as a single stage for sizing the cast boolits of that caliber.

Either way it would help keep them together if the sizing die was in the same turret.

I found that 3" PVC pipe fits a Lee 4 hole turret perfectly. I bought a 4 foot length and cut in 3" pieces. Turrets with dies sit perfectly in them.

Lee tells you that the round die cases will fit the 4 hole turrets for storage.

I'm going the 3" PVC route as well. My problem is that I keep adding more turret plates as I like the quick change over for various cartridges - I'm real partial to 38s and have a separate set of dies / plate for 38 Colt Short, 38 Colt Long, 38 Spl., 38 Spl. BP (separate set of dies for the BP as they get gunked up pretty quickly with the BP lube) and 357 - also 9mm and .380 - then I went and added 45 Colt and 32-20. Amazing how an "addiction" grows . . . .

They do

Just be aware that they don't "lock" together anymore. If you grab it just by the top you will end up w/ the top on your hand and the turret on the floor.

Yep ... 3 inch pvc fits nicely ...

P.S. Consider it stolen

But they don't say that the lube die cases are the same case with 3 fewer holes, and I have about a dozen of them in a box taking up space under the bench since you really only need one to go with the lube dies.

Yes , they do , just a little loose so to speak ...they just sit slightly over the turret.

I wrap mine with VCI paper and put that into a VCI plastic bag

Looks just like my shelf :bigsmyl2:

One little trick I do, is to put a layer of cellophane tape on the area where the cover fits onto the red plastic base, then they kinda 'lock' together.

I laser cut the top for an exact fit, I toss a towel over the top for dust protection

A roll of Duck just happens to have the right I.D. for a nice fit and if the roll has half or more of the tape still on it it has enough weight to work well.

In-Line Fabrication does a nice job. That's where I bought mine.

I am working on a 3d printable peg board holder for various dies and such. Already have the dimensions of the 3 hole version but if someone can send me the dimensions of the 4 hole one I can add that to the files.

Thanks. I plan to start a thread with the designs I have once they are finalized.

Thanks. I plan to start a thread with the designs I have once they are finalized.

Back when I had a CTP, I made stands by mounting 2-3" bolts through a base of wood. At the end of the bolt, I put locked up two square nuts (Home Depot/Lowes). The square nut fit into a square area in the underside of the turrets. You could then put the round die covers over them or use the bottoms of round storage bins. I used the round bins with screw on tops. Made a hole to pass the bolt though. When the turret was stored, you just screwed the base on over the turret. It worked really well and was cheap to make a bolt and two square nuts per turret. Covers if you wanted them. I'll check to see if any pictures survived.

It was easily modded to work for Dillon tool heads and powder dumps (just replaced the bolts with dowels).

Kind of a thread derailment, but this is pretty much what I do. No need to remove the indexing, just don't bring it far enough down to index when sizing. Anything more than enough to get the next bullet in there is wasted motion anyway.

ETA: I only have 2 turrets and I just put the one I'm not using on a piece of thick packing foam-like material. The decapping pin pushes through and so the turret is resting, not rocking, and not damaging the decapping pin. I suppose if I ever upgrade to a bigger bench then I might consider a fancier solution.

Great ideas for turret storage, I use single stages for rifle & large pistol but my square deal toolheads need proper homes. One day I'll get the bench looking good enough for a pic
