Are they any good like Navy Arms sells. I always love the look they have 9 shot with a shotgun barrel. I like to hear from people who own one and their opinion.

I have had one for years. They tend to drop the loading lever, it is held in place by a piece of spring steel. These are made by Pietta and are quality guns. Mine is the Calvary model. I e-mailed Pietta about the loading lever dropping and got a return saying they knew about it, it was true of the originals also! They sent me a replacement piece of spring steel as I had broken mine.

First heard of the LeMatt pistol when I read the book "Cold Mountain". Good novel about the uncivil war.

I'd say they are a lot better as a revolver, if a rather heavy and bulky one, than a shotgun. If you are going to put nine chambers in a revolver cylinder, there has to be a big space in the middle that you might as well fill with something. Like most French revolvers of the period, they fit the hand extremely well.
