dragoon loading lever fix

has any one played around with a #2 Dragoon to fix the sloppy loading lever catch?
I am getting one, and the catch is weak indeed.
Any suggestions will help here.

Get a Navy/Army style latch and barrel lug and fit 'em to your lever and barrel? I've seen that done on a Walker, and so it should be no more of a chore on your Dragoon, and probably less.
