I'm trying to mount an old 3/4" scope on a .22 rifle.
Rifle is a Mossberg 377 Plinkster. Scope is a Weaver B4 with one piece rings.
I got the base from Havalin sales.
Problem I'm having is I cannot get the scope back far enough.
The adjustment blocks are in front of the front ring.
If it's possible, how do I move the scope back so the adjustment blocks are behind the front ring????135329135330

I have one of those Weaver B4's with that exact mount. You probably aren't going to like reading this; but you have to spread the rings enough to slip the scope turret into the space between the rings.

The scope came to me mounted on a Mossberg .22, IIRC it was a Model 351. I took it off because it was getting pretty dim.

You should able to remove the adjustments and slide the scope into position and replace them. Those old scopes are not sealed anyway.

I've done it both ways over the years. Both work.

As an aside for those of us who like the looks of little 3/4" scopes on vintage .22 rifles, and are tired of the dodgy optics provided by these old Weavers, give one of these a try: the GAMO 2-7 variable they market for use on their air rifles. John Barsness (the gun writer) recommended it to me. Rugged, great optics, focus-able, and cheap. $15 or so, less than $25 with shipping. I put one on a little German 5.6x35R stalking rifle (.22 Hornet) on a whim, and it works so good I haven't taken it off a year later.

I took off the adjusting blocks and slid the mount back.
The scope sits to low.
Any ideas on getting it higher????
I'd like to try and keep it looking old style.

Buy a new higher set of rings.

I'd buy a higher set of rings, if I could find some.
Seems they don't make 3/4" rings anymore.
I'm searching ebay, but no luck so far.
Can't even find 7/8" tube rings.

I had just the opposite problem. Every pair of 3/4" rings I scrounged up were higher than I liked. A decent compromise was reached with a pair of old Redfield 3/4" rings for the tipoff (clamp on ) attaching system. Kind of salty in price, I had to pay eBay nonsensical prices.

There are lots of 1" tipoff rings out there for reasonably cheap prices that come in varying heights, and look sturdy as heck. Put a 1" to 3/4" reducing ring inside a pair, and voilą- a 3/4" scope mounted as high as your heart desires.

As an aside, I wonder how all .22 grooved receiver mounts came to be called "tipoff" mounts, even when they have nothing to do with tipping off to the side?

.

There quite a few 3/4" ringsets on FleaBay: http://www.ebay.com/bhp/3-4-scope-rings

More can be found via googling: "3/4" scope rings for sale"

As DCM says. Go to Brownells, they have Delrin spacers. You can then use 1' rings and a regular 3/8" base on your rifle.
