I have an old Lyman 311359 gas checked boolet mold I acquired for 108 grain boolets to shoot in my M1 Carbine. Has anybody tried these or a similar boolet in other 30 Caliber rifles? Like the 30-06, 307 Winchester, 7.5 Swiss, 7.62 NATO, 7.5 MAS, 7.62x39 in an SKS, 30-40 Krag, etc.? Anybody have suggestions for loads to shoot these in any of these rifles? And of course I am planning to shoot them in my M! Carbine also.

Let's see now;

7.62x39; AK & SKS
30-30; TC Contender Carbine abd M94's (two shooters)
300 Savage; M99
.308W; numerous bolt guns
.308CBC: M93 Mauser
7.62x54R; Finn M39
7.65 Argentine; M91s
303 Brit; Ross M10
30-06; numerous bolt guns
and soon to try in the 30x60; Dawn

at 900 - 1200 fps it slips right through grouse with little meat damage yet kills them DRT. !st mould I had dropped them of #2 alloy right at .313. Newer mould is a 311356U and drops them right at .311 so it is best suited for .30 cals and a few .31s.

Thanks Larry. Mine are measuring at 0.311" to 0.312" with a micrometer so might be ok in the 308 bore 30's after resizing, lubing and gas checking to 0.310". Any suggestions for powder and loads behind them in the typical antique 30 caliber military rifle cases? Lyman lists 10.0 to 14.0 grains of Red Dot in a 308 Winchester. I have some Herco and Unique I could try too, that Lyman's lists loads for. One of my aims is to get some cast boolets to shoot in my Winchester 94AE in 307 Winchester, although I will have to single load these due to the pointed tips on these boolets.

I'm wondering how they would do in one of the various 327 FM revolvers, using 32 H&R brass to keep within needed OAL. Looks to me like you could drive them along at a pretty brisk clip for an effective small game revolver load. What think ye?

Lyman Cast Bullet Manual both the 3rd and 4th editions show data for this boolit several of the rounds you mention.
I have used it in the 30-06 with 14.0 grains Unique and in the 308 Winchester I would use 12.0 grains Unique. All shooting at under 50 yards and they were pleasant and accurate.
