This is the 3rd item in an estate lot I'm going through I'm having trouble identifying. I'm pretty sure its a bench rest seater of some sort? but I could be mistaken. Any help and possible value would be appreciated. 135278

Are you sure it is all there?

It looks adjustable, but I have no idea what it is meant for.

Not a clue, I remember seeing something like this that black powder cartridge bench rest shooters used in conjuction with a dummy case to seat a bullet then they would load a charged case with a wad ontop to hold the charge in. At first I thought it was a core cutter or some such thing for swagging but its not anything like that.

I've shot a lot of benches but for the life of me never saw a benchrest shooter having used a tool like that. Frank

Looks like half of a primer removing tool.
These were used about 30 years back by some bench rest shooters when tight neck guns were being used. The case neck was turned to fit the chamber neck.

I have a gun show this coming weekend, I'll take it to one of the guys who run the BPCR bench rest matches and see if he can identify it or give me a clue, you might be right Frank46....it might just be some odd tool for some odd thing that just found its way into the wrong box.

It's a breech seater
works of the rear sight base
usually used with a plugged case
might have been made by Barry Darr or Hoch
