Been mulling over buying a Rock Island chambered in the 22TCM in the commander size (single stack). It would be later this summer IF I went threw with it.

I like the fact that it has little muzzle flip, granted factory ammo is only 40grs. Would be a fun gun to shoot cast threw if a fella could keep it from leading up the barrel. I would guess a gas check would be needed even if you slowed it down to 1500fps range. With 223 brass being plentiful and the little bugger only being 40grish bullets/boolits a pound of lead would go a long ways compared to my current lead slingers (357mag 158gr boolits and 40S&W 175gr boolits).

The Rock Island offering comes with a 9mm barrel set up also, I don't do anything 9mm but that could always change.

Does anyone have one?

been looking one over in the double stack myself , one of the guys at league has the rock island double stack in 9mm but does not have the 22tcm barrel

his is very nice , his is built to run limited class in 3gun but I think all he did was give it a buffing on the necessary components to smooth out the trigger and add a mag well and fiber optic sights

Due to the short size of the factory bullet used by ARMSCOR and the short neck of the brass, making a lead bullet perform well will take a lot of expertise. I also have the bolt action 22tcm rifle and a 24 inch contender barrel, also in 22 tcm. It is my intention to work up lead boolit loads in the future, but now I am concentrating on jacketed bullets. I guess keeping that 45 ACP over all length is the restriction on bullet weight? Has to fit in a mag and fit in the short neck. Bolt action would be less of an issue. I have been considering a build in something semi auto like a carbine converted to 22tcm. But restricted to 40gr bullets and lead as said might be a challenge. A longer action would give more room, say a 7.62x25 pistol, but that fat bullet is not gonna fit in the mag width wise. Was trying to think of something it would work in and give more OAL.

Shortest barrel is 4.25" for the TCM. I'm waiting on a set of dies and i am going to start playing with a couple of cast bullets. Both will be gas checked. bator and another less than 40 gr bullet. H110 powder initially. We will see.....

Please keep me posted on your progress, like I said in the first post it will be later this summer going threw some life changing things atm so guns are on hold.

Haven't shot the rifle yet but I am gonna do that this weekend before I get the barrel chopped to 16 1/4 inches and threaded

Did your pistol come as a combo or was it just the 22tcm?

Chopped rifle barrel with threads...... nice have it ready for a hush cyclinder.

I already own a few cans but that's the idea

As of a few minutes ago when I checked, AmmoSupplyWarehouse had 97 sets of Hornady TCM dies in stock. SPENDY, but available.

Yup a little spendy but I've not seen any instock anywere else. Read that Lee will make them but there not normal production.

Guy on the 22tcm forum said he had a bunch of Lee dies on order, but no real word on when they will appear. I just sunk my $90 into a set of the Hornady on armsupplywarehouse. Should have them next week, will see how they do soon.

Some really nice numbers out of such a little case. Have you ran any number with the handgun yet?
