bought a box of .375 round balls and resized them to .357. i tried universal but their isnt enough bullet weight to make that powder work. then i loaded several cases with 11.5 grains of black horn 209 powder and man did they shoot tight. at 18 yards it was one small tight powder. the gun really likes the 209 powder and the reduced in size roundballs. no leading and no fliers. going to buy a .375 roundball mold and shoot that from now on.

cool beans man ... I would like to see photo's of the new baby as well as the targets she likes to show off with.

congrats on the find. I found that sizing them thru a Lee push thru die and then tumbling them in Alox lube went wonderful. I have done so with my open top 1860 conversion and I think they out shoot the crushed round balls in the percussion mode. my cases like the little pill and shoves em out rite smart with GOEX 2F powder.

how is your fouling with the 209 powder?

I will have to try these in my 357 Colt SAA. sounds like fun.
