I have never seen a High Standard revolver this clean, much less in the box with all the paperwork.

Looks like one I had in 1968+. It was very accurate and my wife could shoot it better than me. Wish I had it back.

I miss High Standard and H&R. You often got a lot of gun for the money.

Here's my High Standard show and tell. High Standard Supermatic Citation, my bullseye pistol. Yes, it's really that clean.

When it's not shooting a match it's loaded with CCI or Winchester subsonic hollowpoints for small game hunting on occasion
134939.

Both HP's open up from pistol length barrels, especially the Winchester.

Tim, that's a dandy! I'm jealous.

I bought one almost identical to that as my first handgun when I turned 21. I got it at KMart for $59, and it is marked as the Sentinel Deluxe model. Still works fine, I was shooting it over the weekend.

No revolver but a semi-auto 22...

Artful, what are the two pieces puctured under the pistol?

It's a High Standard barrel that's threaded and the thread protector with front sight.
I don't always use my suppressor on the high standard Victor but I wanted the option.
There's a red dot to mounts to the barrel as well.

Usually I use a Ruger mk2

Any issues with the can increasing back pressure on the Hi-Standard?

No issue other than the usual extra dirty coming out and making the action dirtier.

My first handgun in the Summer of 1970 was a snub-nosed Sentinel Deluxe. I collected pre-War semis for several years until I discovered how many variants and models were out there. I also shot a couple in informal Bullseye leagues over the years. Always a good value for the dollar. I still have that first one and a few more besides.

Bullseye - started with colt woodsman, then colt match target, then High Standard Victor, ended with Ruger 678G Mk2 - notice every handgun on that list is now discontinued
- I have the luck of the Irish.

When you get into High Standards of yesteryear, especially Victors, Supermatics, Citations, etc. you can go crazy just looking at the models and variations. It is an endless array of wonderful pistols that just keep shooting superior groups year after year. I have one (a supermatic citation) built in 72 that looks like something out of a Buck Rogers movie and it is a pleasure to shoot. My second HS is a Victor 10X and that is not exactly shabby either. Was quite expensive, but worth every penny. A search for reliable 22 ammo is ongoing. LLS

I bought about 40 pistols from an estate. 37 of them were High Standards, one was even a .380. I never wanted to see another High Standard for a long time.
