Strange Escort on I-70

I am coming home from fishing tonight about 7:30pm on I-70 eastbound from Wright City, Mo. when just short of Forestell, Mo. I was passed by a big ole Greyhound bus. As I came parallel to the Forestell on ramp, four Missouri State Highway patrol cars come down the ramp and head for the bus. All had all of their emergency lights on. One pulled in behind the bus and three pulled in front of it. When I exited about 20 miles later they were still in that formation, sort of like an escort. They were headed east on I-70 toward St. Louis. I wonder what in the world that was all about! Any ideas???

Politicians and visiting dignitaries probably wouldn't be caught dead riding in a Greyhound!

That was one of our past Governors. He was told he couldn't speed in his cars and limo...so he designated a highway patrolman to give him personal escorts so he could. What an abuse.

Some college sports teams do that. Supposedly an OU bus was shot at going to or from the annual Texas-OU game in Dallas and OHP has given them an escort every year since then. Can't wait until one of those OHP trooper causes a wreck here in TX, some of the local cops don't much care for the practice.

The sports teams (football specifically) for the big state universities in Alabama get state trooper escorts and usually ride in charter-type busses. It could have been a college basketball team heading to a playoff game.

This is how a friend of the family came home from deployment recently. Their escort was 180 miles the troopers would switch out along the way. Also Greyhound bus lines

that was "o" 's bus that he had the Canadains build to save fuel had it flew to a couple of places for him to put on a show but haven't saw anything about it for a long time now.
