How much over bore size can a boolit be and be safe to shoot.

Measure neck diameter on chamber cast. Then measure case neck wall thickness with tubing micrometer or ball mike, if you have one. Max. bullet equals chamber neck, minus twice neck wall thickness, minus 0.0015 allowance for safe expansion/spingback, for bullet release.

If not, measure cartridge neck diameter with bullet seated.

This diameter must be 0.0015" less than neck diameter measured on the chamber cast, to allow adequate radial expansion for safe bullet release.

Measure your chamber neck and diameter of the unrifled portion of ball seat or "throat" before the rifling starts.

Make bullet fit throat with safe release clearance. Ignore bore/groove diameter, doesn't matter except for mental masturbation....
