Congrats, hard to pass on any Savage and a 99% gun is a no-brainer. My 94 Big Bore likes the Lyman 375449.

Pics not bad at all, much better than no pics.

You know if you don't want to set up for a new caliber,
I could help you out...:bigsmyl2:

It would go well with my Winchester BigBore, Ruger #3, and Contender barrel in 375 BB.

Just saying - here to help a boolit buddy out. :kidding:

Most of mine like faster powder or maybe it's just me
- using Accurate 5744 with 250 grainer's 375248 PB sized .376
though I have a NOE 235 grain RF ranch dog design that I need to get to playing with.

Savage 99's are always a Good Find, Should be a shooter.

A good load for 375449 which weighs 277 gr. is
31 gr. Reloader 7 using CCI 200 primer.

- but I have a bunch of 5744 so am using that with
lighter bullets like 375248 PB about 255 gr.

- the 375BB have a faster twist than the old 38-55 so
they seem to like heavier boolits

- though I have a 210 SWC NEI that walt suggested I use in the Contender and it does awesome.

I have been using aa-1680 and it seems to do well, I'm probably pushing things a bit hard though.
i'll swap over to aa-2230 or something similar my next loading go-round.
the 449 should work in your 375 mag too.

The 375W was my second centerfire rifle cartridge but that was awhile back, it's a damn fine cartridge owing to it's 38-55 heritage but it makes little sense today. Come to think of it, only a few of my favorite cartridges make sense. I'd like a chance at that 99 if you send it down the road.

There are few levergun problems that can't be handled with the proper application of additional safes.

Sell a 99 in 375, is probably illegal. I would think real hard before I sold something I could probably never replace. As far as the 375 win vs the H&H, in the world of cast, I don't see much difference between the two.
I would trade my H&H for a 99 in 375 in a heart beat, and it is a lefty and I never even consider tradeing lefties.
